Sensation
I sincierely feel NBK did extremely well in LNS and also the movie came out well. In LNS the momentum picks up and goes to the peak by the time movie is in last 30 minutes. Thats why, the climax scene was a big click!! Coming to Vijayendra Varma, NBK did very well as a Military Officer, but the movie was partly HIGH's and partly LOW's!! Had the sequence been intial LOW's and HIGH's in the second half it would have been good!! |

I saw both Tagore and LNS. I sincerely feel NBK's performance in LNS way superior than Chiru's peformance in Tagore. Chiry fans may not agree, but that is TRUE. When I started thread on it, jeevi selected it as 'Hot discussion topic'.I will be watching VV next week. |

Thanks for the detailed review.
Yup u are correct. Ilaanti powerful roles seyagalginavollu retired heroes lo Krishna and prasthutham NBK, Rajsekhar and Sai Kumar.
Venky, Chiru, Nag are strict NO for such roles.
Ika movie positives vs negatives, fans give more weightage to positives ignoring shortcommings.
Others take balanced approach. Which was reflected in ur reviews of Tagore or SD MBBS.
Ika as a commonman, he will be least bothered whether movie is remake or direct.
Did ur enjoyment was less when u know that MGM and Muddula Mavayya, Muvva Gopaludu were remakes and not orginal subjects. Sameway inspite of orginal subject u couldnt have enjoyed BVB or Devudu.
As long as movie is not Hindi remake I think it should be fine.
Remake or orginal - Hero's role doesnt change much except for Director.

On Saturday we(about 10 to 12 BTDB members) saw Vijayendra Varma!!
The Show had a patronage of about 175 people.
Coming to my view on this movie:
The initial 30 to 40 minutes of the movie was so so, with NBK doing anything for the sake of his kid, romancing with his wife etc. Some how I go to a movie with high expectations and for me in last few NBK movies the movie which was a dhamaka from the beginning was LAKSHMI NARASIMHA and this movie did not start with that Dhamaka which was a disappointment for me!! There were 2 songs both with Laya in the 1st 35 minutes and in these, the 2nd song was good for me!!}
After about 40 minutes the momentum picked up and the movie was either GOOD or VERY GOOD for about 1 hr 45 minutes from than on!! In between there were 2 VERY GOOD songs, one MYSAMMA MYSAMMA with SANGEETHA and GUNTADU...GUNTADU song with ANKITHA. Also the other song with ANKITHA was good if not great!! Just before Interval there was a fierce sequence which created a lot of heat!! Even after interval the movie was damn good for a while as if it was the climax!! That was a surprise for me!!
Than came the last 25 to 30 minutes!! I don't know what was the problem but people certainly will not appreciate that part of the movie!! The shocking thing was, just because those 30 minutes were confusing and not to the taste of audience even the patriotic song which was damn..damn..damn good was not appreciated!! Oh man, NBK was great looking as SUBASH CHANDRA BOSE!! Even the graphics in that pirticular song were good but other places they were strictly not necessary and not effective!!
So, if to put in a Crisp manner, the movie was a mixture of HIGHS and LOWS!!
ARTISTS:
1) NBK was very great looking in that Military Attire!! His action was too good in many scenes and I would proudly say he is the one who has to do such roles to bring grace to the role!! I am not talking of the NBK-Laya part but that of Military Officer part, that part NBK is amazing and Kudos to him for extraordinary power packed performance in the Military role!! He was good in combo with ANKITHA than with LAYA!! That surprised me!! I am proud to be a fan of NANDAMURI BALAKRISHNA!! Thats all I have to say, when talking about MILITARY OFFICER role portrayed by NBK!!
2) ANKITHA in that East Godavari role was good and she added flavour to the Movie!! I liked the way her role was woven!!
3) LAYA was just okay for me and I am the odd man out in that because others liked LAYA and NBK combo!!
4) SANGEETHA was confined to a small part but her MYSAMMA song with NBK was damn good and she left an impression and may get some more roles with biggies!!
5) MANORAMA was a waste, MUKESH RISHI was Okay and SURYA did very well!!
ANAYSIS:
* The Movie has HINDU-MUSLIM angle to it and no where Pakisthan was shown in worng side!!
* Usually a common movie goer is interested in HIGHS and OKAYS but absolutely not interested in LOWS!! So, there are likely chances some may consider the movie okay and some consider it Naaa!! But, the movie had some sentimental stuff in it and may be ladies may embrace it!!
* The movie has less potential to be a HIT in 'A' cneters, but there are likely chances of it being a HIT in others!!
* In USA, those who can appreciate few very very good scenes and atleast 3 very good songs can watch this movie in a nearby theatre, and those who want the movie to be good...good...good from beginning to end can wait for the DVD!!
I am surprised that few guys here are spreading -ve propaganda pointing out few scenes like how is NBK in a muslim family and how his name is Vijayendra Varma!! In the movie atleast 3 to 4 times the colony people say he is not son of MANORAMA but she bought him up as his parents died, thats all!!
To The Fans:
Brothers, straight cinema lu cheyatame gaganam avuthunna ye rojullo, mana vaadu straight cinema adi kudaa many times flop ayina subject tho, kotha director tho kotha producer tho chesi, thana natana varaku WAH..WAH..Balayya ani pinchadu!! He is becoming young day by day and has been gaining energy day by day!! Bagaa Kulayinchi dada dada ladisthunnadu action ye madhya na!! Ye priticular cinema BO daggara average or some places lo just hit ayye chances yekkuva. Kaani manam chudalsindi, vere vallu gudda pagala kasta padda manodu chese konni roles yedo chesam ante chesam ani pinchuko galaru anthe!! So, oka sari JAI JAI BALAYYA anu kondi!!
