You can not compare success ratio.What is the meaning of success ratio?Just having siver jubiliees.Statistics will not give correct picture for the follwoing reasons..
Krishna acted 8-9 movies per year during his career.If you consider his "peak" period he has acted 10 movies per year.ANR acted just 3-4 movies per year.Naturally run-days of any hero with more number of films will get affected.
Most of the Krishna's movies collected more than ROI.His success ratio is amazing and uncomparable considering "The return on ROI" on his movies.Do you say "Mayadaari Malli gaadu" is a flop movie just because it is not having 100 days and just having 98 days?.
If your cretaia is just "No of days",then Krishna's success ratio is poor.Please note no producer comes to produce a movie with a hero with poor success ratio.But Krishna acted 325(approximately) within 35 years career..How????

I still reiterate that till 1980, NTR and ANR are the two biggest stars of Telugu Cinema and definitely till that time ANR was leading over Krishna(after 1980 onwards Krishna has series of blockbusters) . But from 1980 or 1981 on wards, it is Krishna all the way over ANR and ANR stopped acting as hero (some younger hero used to take care of songs and fights) after 1985 or so. But at present, I still see lot of hard core fans for Krishna where as for ANR, I haven't seen any hard core fans but still I can see that he has lot of fans in ladies.

Even these days Venky has much success rate than Chiru too.

cooldown dude. kRshNa won it from the second year onwards and didn't beat ntr in any of the jyOtichitra award polls. the first year when it was introduced, ntr won. the next year due to his entry into politics, his name was not included. then from that year on until 1987, it was superstar all the way (until the contest was terminated by jyOtichitra). during the third year ir so, fresca soap co-sponsored it.

Cj, Nuvvu ee Jyotichitra awards gurinchi matlaaduthunnavo teliyadhu.
But, Krishna stood first for consecutive 5 years as Superstar in that ballot beating NTR & ANR too.
Otherwise, NTR & Krishna were much bigger when Fan / Mass following is compared to ANR / Shobhanbabu who had heavvy ladies following and movies ran well if they were good.

basically ANR is an actor and remained as actor without becoming STAR. NTR and Krishna became STARS (asalu krishna pedda actor kaadu ante nenemi cheyyalenu/analenu. adi vere sangati) and became big MASS STARS.
But ANR had better commercial success ratio compared to NTR and SS. Also those days movies being the only entertainment and having huge ladies following helped ANR movies a lot in minting money. Usually ladies go with entire family to movies and most of ANR starrers were good family movies with long run.
KRishna had less success ratio in percentage compared to ANR but lot of krishna movies had good openings and collections during their short run even after being branded as flops.

at the same time lot of NTR fans had ANR as their second choice compared to krishna. THis was evident in superstar ballot conducted by jyothichitra when NTR got the superstar award and ANR stood second and krishna third.
I think it is not good comparing anr vs krishna fans. they both belonged to different generations and class.
FYI there were hardcore and committed fans for ANR until mid 80s.

Both of their fan base are different. For Krishna, it is mainly mass, where as for ANR , it is ladies and families. Definitely during Black and White time (till 1975), ANR is way above Krishna. There is competition between NTR and ANR, with NTR leading where as Krishna is no where in the picture though he debuted in 1965 itself. But with the advent of Colour Cinema, mass movies took the priority (especially after KRR came into limelight) and Krishna also was in big league with NTR and ANR, SobhanBabu was the main competitor to Krishna at that time. But after Premabhisekham in 1981 (Kondaveeti simham of NTR was also released at the same time), ANR didn't have a mega hit and ANR started sliding downwards, While Krishna rose to his career best form after that time. From 1983 to 19885, definitely Krishna was the number one hero at that time with many hits.
Bottom line is, before 1981 or 1982, ANR has more fans than Krishna.
But after that, Krishna had more fans than ANR. But at present, both of them faded away. But, still, I see many hard core fans for Krishna. |
