Andhra Brahmins are I think, too caught up in playing victims to even realize anything for now. or they simply dont care

Brhigu that NOT was a typo as I think you have graciously realised. As regards link the hotha hai attitude, if the under priviliged classes had the same attitude and accepted our arrogant behaviour then they would still be downtrodden. Andhra Brahmins too I think should come out of the clouds of fear and demand respect.

Coming to the discussion on castes, I have clearly mentioned in my last post about its benefits. These discussions are better off face to face.

Let us also not generalise about other castes.

Mapleleafs thanks for the clarification. This caste based discussion is good when one tries to learn from their mistakes or when the discussion is taken in the right spirit. These discussion boards however only add fuel to the fire as nobody really cares to understand the other person's point of view or cares to mend his way of thinking.

Most of you may think that you are just venting your feelings and being open, but you are not really hiding behind the internet and opening a can of worms.

ML babai, don't take it seriously.I'm just questioning that statement. So, going by the same concept that Brhamins ni tidithe vaallu baagaa nashta pothaaranukunte, then it proved wrong in my case, right?
Bottom line is, abusing anyone, Brhamins or for that matter any caste is bad and it has nothing to do whether the person is a Brhamin or not.It is wrong to say that if you abuse a person from Brhamin caste, then only it shows negative effects on you. Sorry, my fellow Brhamin friends, nothing against you, I'm saying this with all humbleness in the world, Won't you agree with me?

Another thing, it has nothing to do with whether some one conducted the marriage in a Brhamincal way or not. I checked with my collegeu who is a Tamilian and he confirmed that Rajani is from Maharashtra and is not a Brhamin. He also said that some Brhamins in TamilNadu don't like him since his competitor Kamal Hasan is a Brhamin and he said most of the Tamilian marriages go in the same style and it has nothing to do whether a person is Brhamin or not. Last but not least, if at all Rajani is a Brhamin, athani meeda mana Abhimaanam taggutundaa leka perugutundaa yenti? Any how, it's of least importance to me, if he is a Brhamin/or not, and I still like him a lot.

i dont disagree with the fact that not only mohanbabu many film makers ridicule brahmins...but the word pantulu in common usage isnt meant to be insulting...its just a synonym...nothing more nothing less.

"Brahminical marriage" does not mean that they are bramhins. It means that the marriage is conducted by Bramhin (purohithudu). In AP we are only accustemed to these type of marraiges, where as in Tamilnadu, as Dravidian is strong there, many people do not use a purohithudu for conducting marraiges.

rajanikanth is a maharashtrian born in karnataka. his name is "asoka rao gaikwad".

in tamilnadu (i had few tamil friends and attended their marriage) usually they fix the muhurtam between the hours of 11-12 or 10-12 like that. the bride sits on the lap of menamama or father usually. this again varies on different castes. however the same is not true for maharashtrians .since rajini is settled in madras well over two decades he might have performed it in tamilian way and also his alludu is a tamilian now and they might have insisted for traditional tamilian ceremony

The whole Poes Garden was brought under heavy security by the State police from the early morning. This is to prevent any untoward incident in Rajini's household marriage.

The auspicious time was fixed at 10.45.A.M. The Chief minister who had promised to come for the marriage didn't turn up well past 10.00 'O'clock. Everybody was tensed due to this delay. But she came in exactly at 10.40. Then only everybody released a sigh of relief.

At exactly 10.45 A.M, Balachandar gave the 'Thali' to the groom Danush, by tying it in the neck of Aishwarya he made her his wife.

The groom Danush was wearing the traditional silk Panchakatcham and silk shirt. The bride was wearing a Dark Red silk saree and also wearing lots of jewellery all over her.

The marriage was conducted, in a Hindu Traditional way. Just as in Brahminical marriages, Aishwarya sat on the lap of his father Rajini, and he gave her away in Kannigadhanam.

The VIPS who had participated in this function are very few. Kamal, Chiranjeevi, Mohan Babu, Amrish puri, Vijay, Sathyaraj, Surya, Sivakumar, Vijayakumar and family, P.Vasu, K.S.Ravikumar, Suresh Krishna, Bakyaraj, Chatrugan Sinha, Bharathiraja, ManiRathnam, S.P.Muthuraman, A.V.Muralidharan, Thiyagarajan, Deva, Shankar Ganesh and Vairamuthu. These film personalities had participated along with their families.

Others who had participated including Politicians like, A.C. Shunmugam, Sugumaran Nambiyar, and Jeppiyar, Balakumaran, PRO Diamond Babu. Nikil Murugan, Riyas Ahmad, CBI's Ex Director Karhikeyan, Nallikuppusami and Cho.

The actresses who had participated are Meena, Sumalatha, Isha deol, Maheswari. Sathyarayana, the president of Rajini fan's Association had welcomed everybody.

When the Chief Minister blessed the couple by giving them presents, they prostrated before her to get blessed. Other person who received same kind of respect is the Director K.Balachandar.

The highlight of the marriage is that the director Selvaraghavan and Sonia Agarwal had come in the same car and participated in the marriage just as any other outside couple.

Kastoori Raja has got another daughter-in-law already.
