HELP NEEDED IN DALLAS: Sai Prasad's mother and sister are staying with Mr. Sai Kolli ('83) , who is from the same town, and currently lives in Coppell, a suburb of Dallas. Please email vkolli@comcast.net if you want to get in touch with his mother or sister directly. It would be useful if you could take time out to invite them or spend some time with them since they have never been to the US, and it would not be advisable to leave them alone for too long. They may also need some assistance with transport mostly in the evening while they are here. Sai is admitted to Methodist Dallas Medical Center Neuro ICU. It would be a light load in this matter since there are a number of volunteers. If you can volunteer your help please let us know.

The most important thing for us to do right now is to give Sai's parents access to the best possible medical advice from neurologists so they can make an informed decision on what they wish to do. To get second opinions from neurologists in the current situation requires you to make a personal request. If you have contacts to neurosurgeons in the US, or India who could provide additional advice please email venu@bitsaa.org

Guys,
Sai Prasad Buddul was injured in an automobile accident in Dallas on October 16 and is in critical condition. The accident, involving a truck and Sai's car, caused major injuries to Sai's spinal cord and brain. Sai has been in coma since the accident. He has been joined by his mother and sister, who have arrived recently from India. A number of people have stepped forward to assist Sai, including people in the Dallas area, BITSians and Indian Students at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX where Sai was a student for a while. Though the situation is quite fluid, it appears that it may be best if Sai is transported to India for better long-term care, but we will let you know as the situation progresses about what is being done.
