I met some MS Students. Vallu edho pedha peekuthunnattu cuttings iccheru. Whole point is on that. They felt bit superior to people who come directly on H1.
They should realise that MS is just equivvalent to the work experience due to which others can come with H1.

if you want a living example for the other category you mentioned, your's truly is one such. i used to work on campus (lab assistant without assistanship/tuition waiver. and they used to make sure that we didn't work more than 19 3/4 hrs. per week. if we touch 20, they had to give waiver) as well as off campus (on weekends only and all days in summer/semester breaks). by the time i graduated i had a bank balance of $75 dollars (after buying my flight ticket to move to another city to search for a job). the most expensive thing i bought while doing my MS was a round trip ticket to India and because of that trip i lost my TA position (thanks to my roommate who answered the phone and told them that i went to India and not sure when i would be returning and he reuqested them to consider him.they didn't consider him and gave it to another person who had applied ahead of my roommate).
no matter what i did, i feel proud about my achievements but that doesn't mean that i don't like people in other categories you mentioned. there is good and bad everywhere.

MS cEsina vADu kUDA eventual gA H1 teccukOvAli kAni, if you put 10 people that are on H1 in a room, atleast 60% of the time I can correctly pick the guys that came directly on H1s and the guys that got converted to H1s from F1s (before 2000, the percentage could be 90-100%). Don't think that I have something against the guys that came on H1s.

Govt Jobs for Engineering Graduates dried almost from 1985 or 1990s. Only few (may be 30%) used to get good jobs in BHEL or like that. Rest used to work in private sector for paltry salaries.
Just becos of IT filed everyone are able to get good jobs - ENgineering or non- engineering.
Now with BPO, call centers even normal graduates with good communication sklills are getting jobs |

Reminisences of this Day (EAMCET RESULTS ANNOUNCEMENT)
I felt very bad. This is the first time tears dropped around my eyes. I got a 6000 Rank.This is the most unforgettable day in my life.I thought everything in my life came to an end.Then took my time to analyze, whether to go for LONG TERM or join a Self Financing College. Became more pragmatic in life.
I thought time is important and took the decision to join a Self Financing College instead of wasting a year.But I used to feel bad when people said" enti self financing college aaa". But became more aggressive and motivated in life.
Got a distinction in Engineering. Did dual masters in U.S.A (Chemical and Computers).Maa university ki IIT nunchi, BITS nunchi REC nunchi vacharu. Then I felt no regrets of doin in self financing college.Because we all ended up doing the same masters.
But not getting a EAMCET seat is a good thing for me.Otherwise I would not have been as aggressive or motivated today

What ever you are saying now makes sense after 1997(like, after the S/W took off). But before that may be in 1989-95 time period who ever used to do BE had chances in Public sector like BHEL,HAL,NALCO,ECIL etc. Also there used to be entrance to get into BARC,SAIL,ONGC etc. The creiteria used to be 70% in BE. I know many of them working as Scientists and senior officers in DRDL, DERL, BDL, NFC, NAA etc.
When ever I meet them in India I envy them as they have a very stable life. After all money is not the only thing in life!!
But than 1995 taruvatha yedi chadivina, yekkada chadivina farak lekunda poyindi. Sub kismath kaa khel ayipoyindii!!
