Ramu garu,

I think KV's actual intention was different from your perception. He might have used the "Babu" word, but I think his target was more specific, and pretty obvious. And that is what I was talking about in my earlier post.

Kota is justified about his anger at KV but again it sounded like he was pissed off with prakash raj for grabbing his roles, he should have used his words carefully to avoid that impression.

anyhow when KV doesnt have the resolve to stand on his own making, there was no use of his babu sarcasm.

virus sOdarA,

A dig at the Babu culture is meant to be a dig, and considerg the fans response, it seems like he has acheived what he intended.

what did he achieve? was he able to stop the flow of bAbu's with his dig? look at the bAbu's that made their debut after the release of the movie khaDgam. allu arjun in gangOtri, kaLyAN ram in toli cUpulOnE, caitanya kRshNa in dham, manchu vishNu vardhan bAbu in vishNu, manchu manoj kumAr in donga dongadi, sumant re-entered with satyam, raghu (brother of ravi tEja) in sorry nAku peLLaindi, vikram in koDuku, goutam in pallakilO peLLi kUturu, bharat (the other brother of ravi tEja who also appeared in venky) etc.

the joke is that he was taking a dig at the babu culture by showing ravi teja as a very talented but was not getting any chanes due to the emergence of all these non talented bAbus and the so called talented non bAbu had let two of his brothers (non talented by all means) to try their hands as heroes in telugu movies. was it like a slap on the face of KV with his own hand?

No complaints.

Coming to his comments, Kota is justified in whatever he said, but that doesn't make KV any less talented.
I only wish Kota had directed, or generalized his statements so that it applied to everyone in the industry who is almost desperate for any thing/person non-telugu.

GG sOdarA,

there are good and bad everywhere. the comment from KV is totally uncalled for as well as his dig at the 'bAbu' culture in the movie khaDgam. one of those 'bAbus' is the only major hero that gave him a chance that too in his own production in not one but two movies. when you are surrounded by 90% of heroes falling into this category why take a dig at them. nagArjuna, jagapathi bAbu, mahesh bAbu, nitin and now prabhas are the so called bAbus that acted as heores in his movies compared to JD, brahmAji, SrikAnth, ravitEja and sai kumAr(?) are the non bAbus. if he is so particular about not encouraging the bAbu culture why in the world did he take nitin and prabhas as heroes for the successive movies after khaDgam? why couldn't he take a uday kiran or Srikanth or a ravi tEja?

the good thing happend with the emergence of KV is utilizing the talent of some of the local talent to the best. jeeva, chalapathi rao, ravi tEja and raghu bAbu are the best examples who are portrayed differently and are getting many chances due to the change in their image.

regarding kOTa, he is right in criticising KV's statement regarding telugu actors especially pointing to prakash raj winning two nandi awards as an example. nandi awards have rules changing every year and are awarded to appease all the groups in the industry. i would rate kOTa's role and action in satyam on par with PR's role in ANOTA for a character artiste. even the role of PR in okkaDu and dil were better than the ones in gangOtri (for which he won the award). but kOTa is no saint. he had this bad name of commenting cheaply on non telugu speaking heroines in telugu in front of them.

Kota wont agree with Krishnavamsi

In a recent interview to Eenadu daily, senior actor Kota Srinivasa Rao criticized the comments made by Krishnavamsi during an opening function. Recently, Krishnavamsi is invited to inaugurate Viswamithra Casting Agency. The agency is aimed at supporting aspiring actors. Talking on that occassion, Krishnavamsi commended the idea of Gogineni Prasad, who established this agency, saying that this is such a good idea and will come as a relief in the recents times when Telugu Film Industry is running short of talent.

Responding to a question, Kota commented that the problems start when Telugu industry goes for other language actors and discourages Telugu artists. He quoted Krishnavamsi saying Telugu industry running short of talent. He also referred to Krishnavamsi's example for this as Prakash raj winning both villain and character artist awards for Nandi. Kota expressed his dissatisfaction over these remarks and felt that Krishnavamsi should have avoided making that remark.
