One blockbuster movie..
One reasonable hit..
Two so-called hits..
String of debacles...
On top of above all, superstar's prince.
If you sum up all these, it equals to "Mahesh", a star in dilemma yet again.
People call him charming guy; fans love him to core, as he is their ray of hope. This tall and handsome actor is going through a lean period in his career now. His latest release "Naani" is declared as a most unsatisfied film for his fans and almost like a nightmare for the public. Naani is in making for more than 2 years and his eagerly waiting fans are just shocked with the content supplied in it. Be it Mahesh for the wrong selection of the subject or Manjula for the blind confidence that she has on SJ Surya, who delivered blockbusters earlier in the form of 'Vaali' and 'Khushi'. Fact is that fans are no longer happy about the decisions being made by the young superstar. So, is it something that Mahesh should consider seriously or leave it for the good and continue in whatever he believes in?
Success, is the only way through which you can reach heights. If you consider the success rate of Mahesh, it is par below than 50%. His only successful films so far are 'Okkadu', 'Murari', to some extent 'Raja Kumarudu'. Last two films can't be measured as universal hits, as they didn't do well in all aspects. Only movie that really did wonders in terms of generating revenue, breaking records is 'Okkadu'. When compared to his contemporaries like Pawan Kalyan, Jr.NTR, Mahesh has no major hits in his career other than one film called Okkadu. May be he would have acted in different kind of films for his satisfaction, but the result is a big upset. Unfortunately, industry measures a hero by success, not by the number of different directors or film he worked. His success graph is surely going down to the scale as no of movies of him increases. One can't point out Mahesh also for the continuous failures, as things will not work as expected at sometimes. There is no guarantee that this subject or this director can make a film hit. But if he could give a proper attention to what he is committing to with a totally taken cared background, he could at least manage to deliver what is expected at least few times. Whatever be the subject, whoever is the director, he desperately needed a successful film.
Fans are the strength of any star. They are just like ambassadors who can take your product to doors with free of charge. As a star, one has to give respect to the feelings of the fans. Fortunate or unfortunate, star can’t escape from the image surrounded him and created by his fans. He has to live with it to entertain his fans at the same time to balance the common audience. Stars like Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna seem to have neglected this principle at one point of time and realized later how important it is for them to satisfy the fans rather self. There is a complaint on Mahesh made by his fans that he experiments (??) a lot. They fairly ask one question “why the hell you always try to do something different and don’t do full justice to whatever he is dreaming off?" Time to think Mahesh. Krishna fans are synonym for Loyalty. Though Krishna had given string of flops many times, fans never complained because of the simple reason that he had a good success rate. They allowed him to freely do the experiments now and then, moreover feel proud of him for the daring and dashing nature. When it comes to Mahesh, they expect consistency in the success ratio like what his father used to have before. When Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh proved themselves in industry, Krishna fans expected the same from his elder son Ramesh and disappointed with his poor track record. That day on wards, they have a strong feeling that Mahesh will give them a new lease of life. Coming to industry with such an expectation being carried over, Mahesh is proven unlucky most of the time.
If you closely monitor his steps, one will not dare to say that something is wrong with Mahesh. He worked with all the top directors who gave blockbusters, but that trick didn’t happen to him, which is a bad luck. B.Gopal, Jayanth, Sobhan, Surya, Teja to name a few. May be the kind of subjects he chosen was backfired. But there is no guarantee that particular subject will click with the audience. From his side, there could be some questions to the fans. Can any of these guys guarantee him what kind of story or film does the magic? Basically, these two groups need to come to a common understanding on their roles and responsibilities. It’s not good to see fans praising him only when he is riding on success and throwing him to dust in flops. Mahesh needs support now from his fans and well wishers. Hope fans will understand this and extend their support. Same time, Mahesh has to think many times before make a move here after. Hope his new film “Arjun” resolves all the issues.
