Poor Amrita Singh. Bad enough that one fine morning husband Saif simply decided to walk out on her — because he’s found an Italian companion — making matters worse is the fact that he’s frozen all the bank accounts and Amrita has no access to his money. Her in-laws, Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore, are not one bit happy with their son’s bad behaviour but there’s nothing they can do to help. Other than offer moral support to Amrita. Sharmila Tagore has been spending a lot of time with Amrita and her grandchildren.
But guess who was Amrita’s least expected sympathiser? Sanjay Dutt. Apparently Dutt is the biggest softie in Bollywood and can’t see anybody in distress. So when he heard about Amrita being left in the lurch, without any money, Dutt called her up and told her not to hesitate if she needed any financial help. Amrita was rather touched by the gesture but said she doesn’t need the money. What she really needs is work. And that seems a bit difficult because a 10 year break in the film industry is a very long time. |
