Nakenduko NANI slow ga pick avutundhu anipistundi from TT review.. atleast not a flop .. might end up below average.Even ANOTA had very bad talk. But it went to hit.
According to TT, few negative elements are there which overshadows plus points of the movie ani. I think they can easily remove all adult dialouges and make it more family friendly.

Analysis from TT:
This is truely one of the films that is tough to rate. The movie has some good comedy, couple of good song numbers, good performances by the cast and stylish technical support. However, there are few things that would bring the rating down. Top on the list is some of the dialogues and scenes, which are STRICTLY for adult audience. Some of them even went overboard.
First half of the film is about how Nani becomes 8 year to 28-year old and back to 8 year. First song (Nani Vayase) is pictured well. The song has also got good rythm. For that matter, the other two songs that are worth mention are Vastha Nee Venuka and Amma song. Nani was delayed mainly because of the time A.R.Rehman took in composing the music for the film. Frankly, the music is not that worth the delay. Visual effects are adjusted well. Especially the scenes where the transformations are shown in the Scientist's chamber. Editing and Cinematography are novel. Too much of anything will turn sour. The same thing applies here. Almost the entire second song, Spiderman, has funky camera angles, frame dimensions and lighting effect. A bit of it would have been good. But the entire song throws it off.
Basics of romance, pregnancy and first night are discussed. Seriously... Nani is still a kid. Though physically he is 28 year old, at heart he is 8. So probably the story demanded some explanation of it. But few scenes cannot be seen with the family. Most of the dialogues are way out of board. The way the pregnancy is explained and realization of Nani in the pain mothers take in giving birth take you through a soft phase. The way love between a mother and son is projected is very good. That is the best part of the film. As the film progresses towards the end, the dose of the comedy keeps increasing. There are more than a couple of scenes which are hillarious. The entire climax scene is pictured very well.
Shelve your logic and brains for watching this film. The chances are that you will be able to enjoy the film better. Technically, the crew went to be creative. Though at times it is a bit over, overall it is a good work. Rehman disappoints with his music score for songs. Takings are definitely not routine. There is something different in the film in every angle. But going overboard with few elements related to the sexual discussions form the drawback. On the other hand, comedy is the strong point and it is purely situational.
Artists
Mahesh just mesmerizes. He looked amazing, especially in the song Vastha Nee Venuka. His costumes just add to his looks. This is a total comedy role, which required lot of maturity in handling both 8 year and 28 year old. Mahesh did total justice to the role.
Amisha Patel lost the looks. There is no tenderness. On the other hand, She acted very well. Trying to explain love to Nani, she is frustrated. And these emotions are aptly portrayed by her. Forgot to mention.... there is a lot of skin show too.
Devayani played the role of Nani's mother. She is apt in that role. She is kind of a frustrating character. But she is a soft person and good at heart. Voice dubbed for her, at times, spoilt the mood of the scenes. But at times the very voice could provide good comedy. Devayani's performance is very good. In the scenes when she explains to Vijju (28-year old version of Nani), how much she is missing Nani and also when she tells Vijju how tough it was giving birth to Nani, Devayani delivered a balanced emotional performance.
Aiswarya - Did she dub her own voice? Her scenes have got some crude dialogues and come up as patch work. She did her part OK.
Raghuvaran, as scientist, is OK. Usually, Raghuvaran's name comes with outstanding performance. Here there is not that much scope.
Brahmanandam, RaviBabu provided good comedy. Brahmanandam, after quiet sometime, comes with an entertaining character.
Ali, Nazar, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Kota Srinivasarao, Sunil did short roles. They did their part well.
Music
Music by A.R.Rehman is good at times for the background. Songs wise - Vastha Nee Venuka, Amma and Nani Vayase are good. Others are not even worth.
Technical
Camera work and editing are creative. Though in the songs they come in more, causing irritation, overall output is good. Dimensional changes of the frames and quick editing are good. Dialogues, when not discussing sex and romance, are situational and hillarious.
Direction
Surya, who directed Kushi, directed this film. The other film of his is Vaali. His style of dialogues or scenes relating to the romancing are a bit fire-branded. It was evident from Vaali. With Nani, he went much further. The supposedly romance based scenes are well over-board in terms of picturization, expressions and dialgoues.If that very thing was avoided, the movie could have stood out well. Execution wise, perception of the director seems to be good. He targeted in making it completely comedy based. This is very evident. He succeded in brining out the situational comedy to the most extent. He deftly handled the sentiment part too. In simple language, he effectively explains the greatness of Mother. However, the screenplay is loose at times. Aiswarya scenes just pop up. And some scenes start nowhere. Also, he should have taken more care in the picturization of the songs.
