I have been in USA for around 3 years and have been a regular viewer of telugu movies. I can safely say that: Chiranjeevi,Nagarjuna & Venkatesh lead the pack when it comes to telugu movies in USA.
Yes others may get good crowds, Pawan may have got the best crowds for kushi (a cousin of mine who lives in san jose area has showed me some photos that he took and its unbelievable)..similary okkadu got very good response..nuvve kavali got good crowds but its because the movies were great and got SUPERHIT from audience from the word go...
Exceptions: VA lo Anji - oka show ki around 100 and another show ki around 150...nenunnau - oka show ki around 150 despite negative talk. big stars get crowds irrespective of talk.
ee arjun,tarak laki crowds raavu. vachina definetely not to the extent of 10000 dollars...
singapore trip ivvadam valla nastame kaani labham kanipeeyatledu...

If you observe closely....Not even 10 % of AP papulation living in cities follow jeevi reviews..ok lets say...10 % papulation living in cities watch movies based on gudipudi..or some bodies reviews.. so in this percentage of people how many persons do you think wil depend on net based reviews??( my guess may be 2 %) ...
Now comming to overseas audience..How many of them really depend on web based reviews..to decide whether to watch a movie or not...may be 50 % in total overseas movie goers...
so collections wise.. a movie (ARYA RANGE)can collect 10 - 15 thoudand dollars overseas...
so lets think webbased reviews are contributing around 7.5 thousand dollars towards a movie which is hyped by them...
so any package tour .. doesnt cost less than 1000 dollars for a person....Lets say ..5 webbased reviewers are selected for this tour..So atleast producer is spending 5000 dollars ...He has to recover ..his 7.5 K plus 5 K spent on tours...so if he gets atleast 12.5 K on hyped movie he is recovered..
but in case if he dont spend this 5 K on tours..
he will get 7.5 K from the audience who doesnt bother about these reviews... and we cant say that the movie wont collect even single dolalr from those 50 % who depend on webbased reviews..Atlease 2.5 K will be collected from them...
so any how even with out help of websites he can recover 10 K ...(atleast)..so why should he spend 5 k on tours etc etc..when he is not getting any help from this...????
Most of the people in major cities ...if they feel like ...they look at DC paper movie review ,
I donot think ..Allu or any producer from that family can bribe DC reporters....

Hearsay is that he promised some reporters from varoius news papers and websites to review the film positively and hype the film in return for a Singapore trip with 3 nights and 4 days package tour, covering boarding, lodging, sightseeing of Sentosa Island, Sinagpore City, and Juraong Bird Park and Night Safari.
Let's look at this MEANINGLESS statement.
- Website reviews only matter in USA and not in India.
- And, in India, no one goes to a movie only depending on the news paper reviews. It just doesn't happen.
- Are there any other benefits from these reviews?
- And you say that, this producer tried to pump up this movie (for foreign audience) by spending 30 to 40 thousand dollars for the reporters.
- Each round trip ticket from Hyderabad to Singapore costs 30,000 to 40,000 Rs.
- Boarding and lodging for 3 nights and 4 days, in any decent Singapore hotel, costs at least another 40,000Rs.
- And then sight seeing of Sentona Island, Singapore City, Juraong Bird Park and Night Safari - minimum of another 40,000Rs.
So, at least 2 to 3 thousand dollars to per person. And, someone was mentioning that there are almost 10 guys going on this trip. So, 20 to 30 thousand dollars.
Why would anyone spend such amounts, when the entire US market for these kinds of small ovies, is not more than 10 to 15 thousand dollars. Yes, no matter what Jeevi says, this is not a Chiranjeevi or a Nagarjuna movie. So, collections
won't be as huge. So, why would any one spend such amounts. These guys not only have to recover these Singapore costs but also the amounts they have paid for the screening rights for USA. How is that possible?
And, someone like Jeevi, who is so independent minded and who never gave a shhhihiiitttt about what producers or distributors think (who gave extreme ratings like - 1.5 to Johnny, 2.5 to Andhrawala, 4 to Vasantham etc), cares about
falling for some thing cheap like this.
It looks like either some distributor or exhibitor who is screening (or tried to screen but didn't get the exhibition rights) all
these other movies that are releasing this month, or one of their friends got scared about this movie and started spreading these rumors. Remember, some of these same guys are now managing the website that posted this article.
