A# - Alien Reg # will be assigned at I-485 stage and remains same for the entire process, printed on the GC.
It's like you social security number. Be careful before you give it to any one to avoid any illegal activity on your name. The only place you need is to give it to your employer.

Halcyon is correct.
A# remians constant till the appoval but reciept number changes for I140, 485 and 765, Parole. Everything will be treates as seperate and we get different SRC or WAC number for each |

What is printed on the GC is Alien Number (A#),
and the receipt number of I-1485.
Yes, the receipt number changes from one step to
the next. Since you apply with a new application for each step(eg:LC, I-140, I-485, I-765), you get
a new receipt number for each step. |
