Tamil directors mostly depend on these minure sentiments, values and bring good movies to the celluloid.
Where as our telugu directors mostly try to encash the emotions instead of depicting the values and culture and think that they did a great job to the society including those who acted in that. |

I guess Indian directors should have the following qualifications..
Good narrating skills. He should be able to convey his message clearly. It is difficult to sustain the interest in the audience for 2.5 hrs. So he should have a gripping screenplay.Besides he should also be clear about the story of the film.
A lot of times the background score is ignored. A director must take care of every minute detail.
THere might be a director of photography..but the director should still have a knowledge of the colors and the camera angles. Using a good color combination on screen will elevate any scene.
Besides all these he should be good at chartacterization. He should be able to convey the intended message thru a character.
